Saltwater Farm was born out of a desire for something close to nature, truly unique, and welcoming to all. We offer a variety of packages so you may choose the one that works best for your unique vision.

The Place

Saltwater Farm is located just outside the town of Friday Harbor but feels like a world all its own. Flanked by San Juan Valley, American Camp Trail, and protected port land, even the far reaches of the farm feel wild and apart.

In a sunny meadow at the heart of the property, the event Barn is a beautiful place for gathering and offers complete privacy. Fir forests, fields, and ponds make the farm home to thousands of species of plants and animals, while miles of nature trails provide the perfect way to explore the property and meet some of the resident flora and fauna.

From trail running to stargazing to sipping champagne on the deck, Saltwater Farm offers something special for each of your guests.

The Ceremony

Saltwater Farm has a beautifully designed ceremony site on our ridge overlooking the mountains and ocean. You’ll also find acres of magical meadows and knolls just waiting for your vision.

The Barn

Thoughtfully placed at the center of our main meadow, the 5,000 square-foot, solar-powered event barn is the perfect place to celebrate your union. Soak up the warm glow from the rough-sawn wood paneling, milled on-site from our island fir trees.

Fully insulated and temperature-controlled, the Barn includes a complete catering kitchen, restrooms (including ADA approved), and private wedding suite.

Hold your cocktail hour on the patio and throw the barn doors open for full effect. The Barn provides a stunning backdrop to whatever you imagine for your special celebration.

The Barn Suite

Imagine taking a private moment with your new spouse to look out over all the special people in your life who have gathered to support you.

Our beautiful Barn Suite is a 2-bedroom, 1-bath residence with a kitchen, loft, and living area overlooking the event space below.

One of three wedding party preparation areas, the suite is fully equipped with mirrors, comfy seating, and champagne flutes.

The Shop

A converted barn with a classy industrial vibe, the shop is a fun and super unique spot for you and your wedding party to prepare for your big day.

Complete with bathroom, shower, wood burning stove, and a pool table, the shop is one of our three preferred wedding party preparation areas.

The Inn

With a multi-day rental, the Inn is exclusively yours. Perched on a ridge overlooking the sea, the main house provides a wonderful gathering spot for you and your loved ones.

Hold an intimate rehearsal dinner at our 15 foot live-edge slab table (grown, milled, and built on-site) or a farewell brunch on the deck overlooking the water.

*For single-day wedding packages, the Inn is open to the public for bookings and is first-come, first-serve. We highly recommend making your reservations as early as possible!

Getting Here

Saltwater Farm is located on San Juan Island, part of a beautiful archipelago in the Salish Sea off the coast of WA state. San Juan Island is easily reachable by sea and by air.

We are right next to the town of Friday Harbor, just 1 mile from the ferry dock and a 2-minute walk from the airport! This is ideal for those who do not wish to bring a car on the island (or who show up too late to make their ferry reservation).
